Dave & Beth's Eco-Friendly Zoo Wedding

Your wedding doesn't have to be a zoo, unless of course it's at the zoo! Dave and Beth's eco-friendly wedding took place at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo, and featured gorgeous arrangements of sustainable flowers and green plants.

The bride and bridesmaid's bouquets were composed of succulents, hydrangeas, hypericum berries, ranunculus, craspedia (billy balls), and hanging amaranthus.

The ceremony took place in the Garden of the Senses under the zoo's Skyfari. Yellow roses and green hydrangeas enhanced the chuppah and each aisle chair is adorned with baby's breath.

To finish off the night guests enjoyed a cocktail hour and reception in the Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium. The cocktail tables featured arrangements of baby's breath, while the reception tables held succulent gardens that the guests took home at the end of the night to plant and care for in their own gardens.

Room by Room: Niches

The best way to fill a lighted niche is with properly scaled art and silks or sculpture.

Room by Room: Home Office

Every bookshelf needs a soft element as well as texture changes from rough to shiny.

The main ingredients of shelf décor are color, texture, and scale. Simple larger items are easy on the eyes.

Room by Room: Kitchen Niches

Kitchen niches need décor with color and symmetry to make them seem ordered.

Room by Room: Coffee Table

Coffee tables need three big things to complete a story. Books are always a favorite of mine as at least one of the elements.

Room by Room: Fireplace

Mantle candlesticks and vase designs can bring balance to an asymmetrical fireplace. A tray on the ottoman brings softness and function.

Room by Room: Kitchen Table

Kitchen tables need interest that doesn't interfere with meals. This adds a finishing touch to the stone.
